- What grants are available for your electric charger installation?
-
Businesses, charities & public sector organisations can get funding through the Workplace Charing Scheme (WCS) to cover the up-front costs of buying and installing charge points. Grants up to £350 per socket are available, up to a maximum of 40 sockets.
- Is my business or workplace eligible for the grant?
-
Registered businesses, charities & public sector organisations can claim if they meet the Government’s criteria. The key points are your organisation:
- Must be able to delcare a need for EV chargepoints
- Should prove it is registered, normally with its Companies House reference number
- Must own or be closely associated with the off-street site the charge points are installed on
- Should have permission from the landlord to install chargepoints if the organisation doesn’t own the site
- Provide chargers for staff or fleet use only, customer parking isn’t eligible
- How do you claim the grant?
-
The good news is that we will make sure you’re eligible and we’ll assist you in claiming the grant.
All you have to do is provide some very simple, readily to hand information and apply for the Government vouchers via the application form.
You just pay us the cost of the installation minus the grant and we claim the difference from the government. Only OZEV-approved installers can claim the funding – you can’t do it independently.
- What are the tax incentives for owning an EV?
-
The road tax or Vehicle Excise Duty for all 100% electric vehicles is £0 and this will now apply until at least 2025.
There are cost savings too with company cars. The taxable ‘benefit in kind’ of a company car is determined by its CO2 emissions, so 0% for an electric only vehicle. This compares to 20% for a diesel.
- Are there other financial incentives for owning an EV?
-
You can save up to 35% (max. £3,000) when buying an electric car and up to 20% (max. £1,500) when purchasing an electric motorcycle or moped
Get an exemption from London’s Congestion Charge and take advantage of local parking perks, with free or discounted electric car parking in many towns and cities.
